We are excited to add a special studio time for our Little Painters ages 3-5 from 10am-12pm Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays for just $10 per painter. Please call for reservations (251-343-2423) as we’ll be open by appointment only for these morning sessions. We welcome groups of Little Painters if you have a birthday or other special occasion to celebrate with friends.
These Little Painter sessions will feature washable paints and kid-friendly painting projects. We’ll have paints and other supplies out so that when you arrive you can get started. Painting options include 8×10″ canvas, 9×12′ watercolor paper or a special 6×9″ paper with a white mat we put on once the painting is dry (pictured below). Some days will feature special painting projects while other days they can pick. Check our calendar for updates. The Little Painters art projects will generally take no more than 30 minutes so that they are able to finish up around the same time they’re ready to be done.
While the paints we use during this time are washable – we strongly recommend you dress your Little Painter in old clothes as sometimes not all the paint comes completely out.
We provide aprons for our Little Painters and caregivers, but it’s always a good idea for you to also dress in something old just in case since you’ll be helping your little painter and sometimes our Little Painters get excited when we paint and it gets where we don’t mean for it to.
Paint Party Studios Summer Art Camp 2015
This year’s Paint Party Studios Summer Art Camp will run on Tuesdays-Fridays from 1-3pm throughout the summer with a break for the week of 4th of July (no camp June 30-July 3). Ages 12-16 have the option of joining in the activities for the younger campers or having open studio time to create their own artwork each day. Also, students ages 12-16 are welcome to stay until 4pm if they need more time for their projects (ages 6-11 need to be picked up when camp instruction ends each day at 3pm).

What we have planned:
Tuesdays – Drawing Days: Sketching, principles of perspective, cartoons, pastels, oil pastels, charcoal, graphite and more – each week we will explore a new technique in drawing. Guided instruction for ages 6-8 and ages 9-11. Ages 12-16 can sit in on the class or can use the drawing materials provided to do their own thing in an open studio environment.
Wednesdays – Painting Days: Students can paint based on their drawings from Tuesday’s class or begin a painting from scratch – we will explore the masters as well as many mediums of painting. Every week will be something new with guided instruction for ages 6-8 and ages 9-11. Again ages 12-16 can sit in on the day’s class or can use studio paints for their own open studio.
Thursdays – 3D & Recycled Art Days: From paper craft to metal work and many things in-between we will create 3-D art sometimes exploring recycled materials. Specific activities will be provided for ages 6-8 and ages 9-11. Ages 12-16 can join in on the day’s instruction or use the materials provided to do their own unique work.
Fridays – Open Studio & Pizza Days: On Fridays students can revisit a favorite medium from earlier sessions, finish up an ongoing project or do some freestyle art with new materials in open studio. We’ll have pizza and soft drinks on Fridays as we wrap up our week of art.

The kids had a blast in Spanish Fort today! We had a blast in Spanish Fort today! A lot of lovely, custom artwork created by these students for the Bidding of the Bulls fundraiser. More to come! We love facilitating group painting in the classroom. Give us a call so we can help with your next fundraiser or classroom event!
On Saturdays from Noon-3pm we will be hosting a Kids-Only Open Studio where kids 6-12 can paint for just $15 for an 8×10 stretched canvas. These are an ideal canvas for young kids as they take just enough time to hold their attention, but not so long that they get bored. These canvases usually take kids from 30 minutes to one hour depending on how detailed they want to get with their painting.
We have been working on a new fun and whimsical kids gallery of images with over 40 images for kids to paint during the special Saturday Kids-Only Open Studio time. Parents can also paint with their kids – but during this kid-centric time, everyone paints the same size and everyone picks from the kids menu.*
Our new images have fun characters, animals, sports themes and more – and kids can choose their own colors and add their own flair to the background as they wish. When they’re finished painting, if they would like for one of our staff to outline their painting with an acrylic marker we’re happy to do so, but we want to let the kids real art work show through in their final painting.
These Cougar Cubs below are a good example of the individualized work of the kids – each one is different and some are a little outside the lines – but at this age (this was from a class of 9-year-olds) they are still developing their skills and they should not put too much stress on staying inside the lines – art should be fun – not be stressful!
We love how some put some cute flourishes on their background and personalized the faces to make it unique. The same goes for the fantastic mermaids and footballs in the picture above. Some girls chose to paint red “Ariel” hair while others did self-portraits and many added waves to indicate water and even some sea creatures. The boys got creative as well with different options for what to put on their footballs and not all doing the same grass color. We encourage kids to put their personal touch on their painting so everyone doesn’t go home with the same exact picture.
* Parents – if you want to paint a larger painting, you’re welcome to come back during adult open studio, but during our kid-friendly time slot of noon-3pm we’re all about making it fun for the kids and making sure the young kids don’t get bored waiting for other family members to finish a much larger painting.
Adult Group Reservations & Date Nights
As always we LOVE hosting adult groups large and small including date nights. We have two tables for 12 available in our “VIP” area in the back – and seating for 28 in the front where we can host couples, small groups or a group of up to 28. We have plenty of food tables for you to bring your own drinks, appetizers or even dinner if you’d like.
Call 251-343-2423 to save yourself a seat any Friday night starting at 5:30pm, Saturday afternoon starting at 3:30pm for groups, singles and date night paintings.
Groups of 6 or more can also schedule paint parties on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday evenings or anytime after 2pm on Sundays.
School Paint Parties – Calendar Filling Up
Our calendar is filling up with Mother’s Day paintings and End-of-the-Year Paint Parties. If your school would like to host a paint party for $10 per child (min 20 children) – call 251-343-2423 to reserve your spot on the calendar. We recently did a two-day elementary school event hosted by the PTA where over 100 kids got to paint their own school mascot and the PTA made it into a successful fundraiser.
We have other elementary schools planning for Mother’s Day gift paintings in April and we’re working with another elementary school to paint class canvases for a fundraiser auction.
Our school Paint Parties are not limited to elementary school students – we recently had a group of high school health science students come in and paint an image to help them memorize the nervous system. Ask us about how you can connect a painting field trip to your curriculum.
Our sincerest apologies, Comcast, in their infinite wisdom, decided to take our phones offline for much of the day today, along with a number of other businesses in the area. In the meantime, please email us at firstname.lastname@example.org. We are now unable to get through to the Comcast customer support but will keep trying. We will update as we know more. We are very sorry for any inconvenience and we look forward to connecting with you as soon as we are able.
