After School Art Classes Learning about Kandinsky & Klee

Klee AbstractsLast week in our After School Mixed Media Art Class at Azalea City Center for the Arts we continued our study of Paul Klee and his famous quote “A line is a dot that went for a walk.” We took our dots for a walk with some abstract lines and then filled in with some watercolor blending. The students practiced their blending to the side so they could work on making their own custom colors.

Kandinsky CirclesThis week we learned about lawyer-turned-artists Wassily Kandinsky and worked on our own oil pastel versions of Kandinsky’s “Squares with Concentric Circles.”

Next week we’ll be painting again so stay tuned for pictures.

There are still seats available in the Mixed Media Art Class that meets on Wednesdays from 3:30-4:30pm at the Azalea City Center for the Arts (Dauphin & I-65).
